Cairo Montenotte is a common of the Province of Soaps in the area Ligurie in Italy.

Under the first Empire, the French department of Montenotte had as a chief town Savone.

The department was created the June 6th 1805, and was named thus in reference to the victory of Montenotte, gained by the general Bonaparte the April 12th 1796 against the Austrians of the general Johann von Beaulieu. Economy
