Cagli

Cagli is a common of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marches in Italy.

Geography

Cagli is located on the blanks of the Petrano Mount.

History

The origins of Cagli go back to the 4th century before J.C under the name of Cale Umbra . The city was controlled successively by the Byzantine Romains and . At the 12th century, it becomes a free city. It had to undergo destruction following the conflict having opposed the Guelfes and the Gibelins. Rebuilt in 1289, it was incorporated in the Duché of Urbin, then was placed under the domination of the Della Rovere. Its destiny is then related to that of the Papal States and it is in 1860 qu ' it was annexed to the Royaume of Italy.
