Caer Ibormaith

In the Irish Celtic Mythology, Caer Ibormaith is girl of Ethal, a Tuatha Dé Danann. The god Oengus in tomb in love after having seen it in a dream, it falls ill so much it finds it beautiful. Once cured, he thus seeks to know who is this young girl. Ethal, the father, refuses to give him the hand of his/her daughter. Oengus succeeds in forcing it to say to him where it hides. In fact Caer had decided to live part of its life as a swan. The day of Samain, fascinating him also the appearance of a swan, it goes to the lake of the mouth of the dragon. He recognizes it and takes his hand.

It should be noted that, in the Celtic Mythologie, it is generally under the appearance of swans that the Bansidh (messengers of the gods which reside in the Other Celtic World , the Sidh) move in the world of the human ones. Sometimes they come there to invite a hero to taste the delights of their residence.
