Cadenet

Cadenet is a common French, located in the department of Vaucluse and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.

Its inhabitants is called Cadenétiens.

Geography

Cadenet is a village overhanging the valley of the Durance, located on the southern slope of the Massif of Luberon. 57 km in the south-east of Avignon, 59 km in the north of Marseilles and 616 km as the crow flies of Paris.

Access

One reaches it since Lourmarin north by the secondary road 943. The secondary road 973 cross-piece the commune on a East-West axis in the south of the borough and makes it possible to connect Lauris to the west and Pertuis/Villelaure the east. History

The site was, during the Protohistoire, the site of the tribe of the Caudellense S (Cavares), from where the origin of its name Cadenet.

The presence of important a Oppidum on the hill of Castellar makes of Cadenet the first capital of the Acute Pays at the time pre-Roman.
