Caÿstros

In the Greek Mythology, Caÿstros or Caystre (in Greek old Κάϋστρος / Káÿstros ) is a god river of Lydie.

According to certain authors, he is the son of Achille and the the Amazon Penthésilée. He also passes for the father of Éphésos, the founder of the town of Éphèse, and Sémiramis, which he had with Dercéto - a nymph which, according to Diodore of Sicily, had a face of woman and a fish body. After being themselves violently éprise of Caÿstros (under the influence of Aphrodite which had to complain about it) and having given rise to a girl, Dercéto ashamed exposed his/her child and killed Caÿstros.
