C Unum Sint
Ut Unum Sint ( Which they are a ) is a Encyclique of the pope Jean-Paul II published the May 25th 1995. According to the prayer of Jesus in the Gospel according to Jean (17: 21-22), the encyclical treats relations of the Catholic church with the orthodoxe Église and the other Christian communities.
This document just like reaffirms that the unit of the two Churches sui juris is essential, the dialog with the Protestant churches. This document shows that the Catholic church is firmly committed for the unit of the Christians. It became one of the bases of the oecumenical dialog.
This biblical word is also the currency of the cardinal Marc Ouellet.
