CS Insurance

CS Insurance is a Swiss insurance company, founded in 1899 with Saint-Gall. She proposes services in the field of the Health insurance. In November 2007 it amalgamated with the Genevese Intras to become the largest sickness insurance of Switzerland in front of Helsana and the Mutual Groupe.

History

CS Insurance was created in 1899 under the name Case-disease of the catholic association of the workers of St-Gall . It was then an organization of mutual aid falling under the tradition of the social Christian doctrines. During following years, were created, in several places, of the case-disease social Christian women. In 1907, they adopted the Association of the case-disease social Christian women of Switzerland. From there, the social case-disease and accidents Christian of Switzerland developed, under various denominations. It protected, in the legal form of an association, its members against the economic consequences of the disease and the accident. Its sphere of activities extended soon to all Switzerland and the principality from the Liechtenstein.

In 1959, CS was transformed into an open case and was declared neutral on the political plan and denominational. In 1987, the bar of the million policy-holders was exceeded. The same year, the case-disease obtained a new identity and named from now on " CS Assurance".
