* Plays with Q-Sound System

The latter use a system of " battery suicide" i.e. that once the pile died, play too. However even if this system were re-used in the CPS-2 and CPS-3, it was here about a rather rudimentary protection, indeed by modifying the roms programs (which is not encrypted contrary to the successors of the CPS-1) one could easily play with the original play but without battery. For that it was enough to program eeprom with the code of the roms of modified programs but or rather " hacké" and if required to make a small physical modification on the chart of the play, like making a bridge with a wire between two points of the chart.

All this has well-sure license the arrival in mass of bootlegs (pirate plays) in the rooms of arcades, thing that forever known (during their period of exploitation in room) systems CPS-2 and CPS-3.

Years later, Nicola Salmoria with contributed to help people who had bought plays CPS-1 protected whose battery had returned the heart and this, by modifying the code from the roms from programs and by giving technical information. That with license with many owners of plays of arcade CPS-1 (mainly of the fans of arcades) of rejouer to their plays without being obliged to have to make a rather technical handling (for whoever used a soldering iron forever) to change the battery before she dies and this, every about 5 years (intermediate duration of a " pile" or battery CPS-1).
