History

The history of Meknassis football was with its signal during the Forties and Fifties and irregular during the Sixties, the city was equipped with two large football teams namely:

In time, these two teams made tremble all the main roads team almost and sometimes foreign by the collective and individual play of its players, seventy percent of the players were Europeans, but most brilliant were Moroccan players like Klaoua , fire " Idriss" (ex-player of the team of France) and its frère" Mohamed" , two ex-players of the USDM and the team national Morrocan woman.

Concerning the period of the Forties " Mohamed Klaoua" tell with CODM-Meknes.com: the USDM is the only team of this period which beat the valorous red team the WAC of Casablanca (3-1) in residence, two goals marked by " Idriss" and one by his/her brother " Mohamed Klaoua" , But with the return match to Meknès the WAC of Casablanca gained vis-a-vis the USDM in front of its many people by four goals with zero. Why?

According to " Mohamed Klaoua" it is for reasons of national policies " the team of the WAC was the only national team which was made up has 100% Moroccan players militants".

At the beginning of independence (1955-1956), the USDM is dissolved to leave the place to the young team of Rachad de Meknès . Unfortunately, the latter could not resist in the first division among the large ones what caused a sporting crisis without preceding in the ismaillienne city. To solve this problem, the persons in charge decided to make amalgamate Rachad and the Difaâ de Beni Me hamed (very brilliant Team of the 3rd division). unfortunately this solution did not achieve the desired goal.

In 1962-1963, a new star was born: The General sports Club De Meknès (CODM) following Rachad fusion, Difaâ de Beni Me hamed and the Sports association of Tangier-Fès (ASTF).

In spite of these efforts concidérables, forever known football meknassis a stability like the Forties and Fifties what caused the escape of the spectators of the stages meknassis. Fortunately, these last years the foot meknassis knows a rebirth.
