CHUO-FM

CHUO-FM is a Canadian university radio station emitting on 89,1MHz with Ottawa. It is the station of the Université of Ottawa.

History

CHUO is a Canadian radio station which diffuses on item 89.1 FM in Ottawa. It is the Community station of the university of Ottawa.Elle started to diffuse under the name of CFUO which was a station AM of 670KHz in 1975 and has to start to diffuse in 1984 on the cable FM and in closed circuit in the residences for students. It then obtained a license of diffusion of the CRTC and started to emit into 89.1 FM the May 31st 1991. Tom Green animated a night emission during several years during the Années 1990, before leaving for television. The studios were initially located in a mall connecting the Morrisset library to the residence Thompson coed. In September 2005 the station moved within the building where the library is located. She now covers a territory located in a radius of 100 kilometers.

Programs

CHUO-FM emits the every day during 24 hours. She diffuses especially music, but also emissions cultural and programs of Radio France Internationale.
