CFCM-TV

CFCM is a chain of Québécois Télévision .

History

July 17th, 1954

The first station private of television in Quebec enters in wave. The station is then member of the anglophone and French-speaking network of the Radio-Canada Company. CFCM-TV is then the property of Television of Quebec (Canada) Ltée. Famous Players Canadian Corp. Ltd. (49.6% of the shares), CHRC Ltee. (19.9%) and CKCV Ltee. (19.8%) are the other principal shareholders.

March 17th, 1957

CFCM-TV becomes unilingual French while Famous Players inaugurates station CKMI-TV.

September 12th, 1971

The Réseau VAT begins its activities by connecting CFTM Montreal, CFCM-TV Quebec and CJPM-TV Chicoutimi.

1972

CFCM-TV and network VAT become diffusion official Nordiques of Quebec, then member of the Worldwide association of Hockey.

1975

Television of Quebec sells CFCM-TV to Radio Laval Inc.

1979

CFCM is bought by Ltée TV-Capital.

1984

Ltée TV-capital is sold by the Corporation of Management Vérendrye to CHEM-TV Inc., a subdivision of Pathonic Communications Inc. CHEM-TV and TV-Capital amalgamate and become TV-Capital Inc.

1986

TV-capital Inc. obtains the permission to operate a Network made up of CFCM-TV, CFER-TV Rimouski, CFER-TV-2 Gaspé-North, CHLT-TV Sherbrooke, CHEM-TV Three-Rivers and CIMT-TV River-of-Wolf and remains associates of network VAT. CFCM-TV loses the diffusion of the hockey of the Nordiques of Quebec towards the new station CFAP-TV, member of Network TQS.

1987

Group Vidéotron Ltée. fact the acquisition of TV-Metropolis Inc.

1989

TV-metropolis takes the control of the Pathonic Network which included CFCM-TV.

1990

The corporation takes the name of Group VAT Inc.

August 13rd, 1992

TV-metropolis takes the complete control of Network VAT.
