History

Main road of Saint-Mandé to the Football-Club of Paris (1896-1906).

The origins of a.C. Paris go up with 1892, date of foundation of the Main road of Saint-Mandé, “Company of Gymnastics and Military Preparation”. A section football is created in 1896. The club engages a team in championship of third series of the U.S.F.S.A. as of 1897 and disputes its first matches on the lawn of Beautiful-Gabrielle (Wood of Vincennes). The Main road finishes first of its hen. The accession in second series is obtained the following season. Soon, the club joined the first series, but sorrow on this level. In 1899, the Main road becomes Football Club of Paris. Under this name, the club gains the Coupe To handle 1902 and 1905.

The golden age of CA Paris (1906-1920)

In 1906, the F.C. Paris is transformed into Athletic Circle of Paris after the fusion operated with the U.S. XIIe and Paris Athlétic Club. A championship of first series comes to mark this evolution wanted by Michel Fontaine. Fountain, which created in 1919 the League of Paris, was the large president of the C.A.P.

In final stages of the championship of France 1906, after having drawn aside the S.U. Caen (8-0), then the S.O.E. Toulouse (2-1), the C.A.P. faces the R.C. Roubaix finally national. In Tourcoing, the C.A.P. opens the score as of the 6th minute. A powerful roubaisienne team and a contestable arbitration allow the Northerners to finally be essential 4-1. The championship of Paris is again gained by the C.A.P. in 1909. Angers u.a. (17-1), the Stage of Rennes (8-3) and the U.S. Tourcoing (1-0) are then eliminated by Capistes. Finally national, the Parisian ones face the S.H. Marseilles in Colombes. The Swiss ones of Marseilles are essential 3-2.

In 1910, the C.A.P. leaves the U.S.F.S.A. Co-to found the Football league Association. Capistes remove titles 1911 and 1913 of this league giving access to the Trophy of France.

In 1911, the C.A.P. gains this test finally by drawing aside Star of the Two Lakes (1-0). New victory in Trophy of France of the C.A.P. in 1913. This time, after having eliminated Star from the Two Lakes in semi-final (4-2 after prolongation), the final puts at the catches Capistes and the Of Bordeaux one of V.G.A. Médoc. The meeting takes place at the Stage of Jard in Bordeaux-Mérignac and sees the victory (2-1) the Parisian ones.

The Great War puts the activities of the club in day before. The first two editions of the Coupe de France are marked by capists participations in the eighth (1918) and in the quarterfinals (1919). The following season, the C.A.P. reaches the final of the test after having eliminated Red Star in quarters and the V.G.A. Médoc from Bordeaux in semi-finals. In front of more than 7.000 spectators at the Bergeyre Stage of Paris (Chaumont Hillocks), Capistes remove the Coupe de France vis-a-vis Norman Le Havre A.C. (2-1) following two goals registered by Henri Bard, said “baby cadum”. The formation of the C.A.P. then includes/understands many international like Bard, Vanco, Bigué, Allègre, Poullain or Gravel. Mesnier, international since 1904, is then 35 years old. Two international Swiss supplements manpower truffle of stars of the C.A.P.: Dreyfus and Pache. Hardly the gained Cut, the team disperses following “fâcheries”. All the players leave the club except Mac Dewitt and Moulène.

The time of the cherries (1920-1932)

The rebuilding of a competitive team with the C.A.P. takes five years. The championship of Paris acquired by Capistes in 1927 is the best illustration. This same season, the C.A.P. reaches the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. The O.M., by one shingling 6-0 in Lyon, puts a term at this course. The Reds obtain their revenge on the O.M. shortly after. Indeed, the F.F.F.A. having decided to set up a competition of end of season allotting the championship of France bringing together the champions of the regional leagues, the C.A.P. is invited to measure itself with the Olympique of Marseilles, F.C. Rouen and other A.C. Amiens. Four victories in as much of match and the C.A.P. is crowned champion of France 1927! The C.A.P. is pressed then on a team including/understanding, inter alia, Ottavis, Fidon, the Laurent brothers and Langiller.

In 1928, the C.A.P. finds Red Star finally Coupe de France. At the beginning of the match, Marcel Langiller, one of the best assets capists, is wounded. Heavily handicapped, the players of the C.A.P. incline themselves finally 3-1. Passing in front of the president of the Republic Gaston Doumergue at the conclusion of the meeting, the guard capist Armand Blanc launched to him “In sport as in policy, the Reds are beaten”.

In 1930, the club undergoes a new serious attack which dislocates its manpower. Langiller joined Excelsior of Roubaix while the Laurent brothers sign in Sochaux. The C.A.P., which evolves/moves then with the Stade Buffalo (Door of the Terns), never recovered really from this new bleeding.

CA Paris at the professionals (1932-1963)

Since 1932, the club chooses however the statute pro. Engaged in the first edition of the first division pro, the C.A.P. knows one average season (5th on 10) before inclining 21 times in 26 meetings in 1933-34! It is the descent in the second division. Never Capistes will manage to be extirpated some…

The C.A.P. is always a vagrant without stage and evolves/moves then mainly at the stage of Swiss in Saint-Mandé, ground with reduced dimensions. January 24th, 1937, Capistes accommodate Charleville in Saint-Ouen. The play produced by the Parisian players is so pitiful that a “Parisian kid” particularly gouaillor exclaims: “Not astonishing, it is not a ground for them, it is too low of ceiling! ”. The C.A.P. was essential all the same 2-1. After the war, the C.A.P. lives sparely in D2, collecting the red lanterns. President Langiller opens the doors of his team to young people of the R.C. Paris as of end of the year 50; without more success.

Out of Cut, even food shortage. After the second war, the club capist manages to reach only the 16es of finale to four recoveries (1946, 48,50 and 51). It is quite thin for a former “king of the Cut”.

In 1963, the C.A.P. of Marcel Langiller throws sponge. “It was in the order of the things, the club could not live more. We had the merit to hold a long time. As I was younger, I thought one year on the other that the situation would improve. I finished by me returning obviously. (...) Last times, we were in perpetual transhumance: Park of the Princes, Saint-Ouen, Vincennes and even Mantes: we were good to play everywhere and nowhere. ”

Epilog (1963 at our days)

In spite of the 126 selections in team of France honoured by the players with the C.A.P., the club has vegetated for more than 30 years in the hollows of the Parisian hierarchy. The club even dependant its intended for that of the S.O. Charenton (October 1964) allowing him to join again with its glorious last by finding the grounds of its beginnings in Charentonneau. The club bears today the name of Cape-Charenton .

An imitation CA Paris finds life during the summer 1998. It is in fact a.C. XIVe, another Parisian club centenary, and tenant of the mythical Elisabeth stage, which changes identity. This CAPE there, does not have obviously any bond with CAPE truth.
