CA 15.3
This Antigène is associated with the Breast cancer of which it constitutes a marker that one proportions in blood. It is not very sensitive: it does not accompany all breast cancers and is detected atabnormal rates only for one already important tumor (in one to three cases out of ten only for one cancer without metastasis).
It is increased moderately in noncancerous diseases of the Foie (Cirrhose or Hépatite), more clearly in other cancers, genital or digestive. It thus does not have interest for the diagnosis of breast cancer. Later it contributes to the monitoring of the patient, to detect a possible relapse or to follow the effects of a treatment when the clinical examination or another simpler complementary examination is not enough: its reduction indicates in theory a therapeutic good answer, its D-increase a new aggravation of the disease.
