CAMIF is in the beginning the Co-operative of the Members to the Mutual insurance company of the Teachers of France (see MAIF), it is now opened with all.

History

  • 1947. Creation of the Co-operative , by Edmond Proust, founder of MAIF. In this period of post-war period, the objective is to feed a Case of Solidarity with the Bénéfice S, in order to help the Sociétaire S in situation difficult to be re-equipped following the goods lost during the war.
  • 1949. First installation. The CAMIF becomes a Public limit company Coopérative with Capital and personal variables, reserved to the members of the State education, members of the Mutual insurance of the Teachers of France. Its Entrepôt then has a Superficie of 500 m2.

  • 1963. The CAMIF moves in which occurred of Paris, with Niort (town of origin of the MAIF), on a surface of 2.000 m2 approximately. It opens its first Magasin there.

  • 1971. Inauguration of the first warehouse entirely automated in Europe, in Trévins of Chauray, close to Niort, where the CAMIF establishes its offices and its store on a surface of 13 Hectares (currently 47 hectares).

  • 1973. Opening of the store of Toulouse, which will be increased in 1979 for a surface of exposure of 5000 m2.

  • 1981. Launching of the waiter Minitel. The CAMIF is the first company of VPC to successfully test these new communications tools with its members.

  • 1983. Opening to the Community S, with the creation of the first catalog Communities.

  • 1985. Opening of the store of Lille - Ronchin.

  • 1988. Opening to the partners: the CAMIF opens with some mutual health by creating 2 Unions of Social economy (EU), MNH Catalog (Mutual of hospital) and MAY Catalog (Mutual insurance company of the agents of the taxes).

  • 1989. Birth of the waiter Télia. The agreement with the mutual insurance companies extends to all the MFP (Reciprocity of the Public office), gathering all the mutual insurance companies health of the public office) and new EU is launched: MGPCL Catalogs (Local government agencies).

  • 1991. Launching of catalog COOP VPC postal and telecommunications authorities (Station) and MDCM Catalog (Military).

  • 1994. Opening of the store of Lyon. Creation of Magnet CAMIF, in Czech Republic. Repurchase of Nicole Bernard (produced soil).

  • 1996. Acquisition of a holding in Savor Club (Wine S and Spirituous).

  • 1997. Creation of CAMIF Habitat, specialized subsidiary in the restoration and alteration work. Creation of CAMIF Solidarity, association with Humane goal and social. In complement of the minitel, launching of Internet site camif.fr with the setting on line of more than 100.000 references produced.

  • 2001. Opening of the store of Rennes. Implementation of the new sales strategy around the 5 M: Multispecialist, Multichannel, House/Leisures, Means/Top-of-the-range, Mediator.

  • 2002. Creation of the Multi-media Center of Contact for an optimized treatment of the client relationships. Opening of the store of Niort to any public. Opening of the full membership to members CASDEN and MGEN (after 3 years of seniority). Opening of the store of Pleasure (78).

  • 2003. Financial problems bring the CAMIF to recapitaliser, with the support of the MAIF, the MGEN and CASDEN BP. An industrial partnership with 3 SWISS International is tied. The stores of Lille and Toulouse become open to all. Savor Club is resold. Creation of Romactis, company taking again the activities of Club CAMIF.

  • 2004. Implementation of the legal and financial process of International agreement CAMIF/3 SWISS, with the support of the MAIF, MGEN and CASDEN BP. Sale of Magnet CAMIF. Participation of COFIDIS to a total value of 66% in the capital of C2C. Creation of Particular CAMIF, dedicated to the natural persons. Closing of the store of Coquelles in the shopping mall Quoted Europe close to Calais.

  • 2005. Continuation of the closing of the nonprofitable stores: Rouen.

  • 2007, September 5th. The funds Osiris Partners (French funds supplied with American capital) becomes majority (but without right to vote to preserve co-operative operation) after a contribution of financing of 25 million euros.

Classify CAMIF

The expression indicates, in France, of the classes of colleges and colleges which would be reserved to the good pupils or with the pupils whose parents know the education system well, as the children of teachers (which are potential customers of the CAMIF).
