C. Mr. van den Heever

Christiaan Maurits van den Heever (February 27th 1902 - July 8th 1957) was a writer, a Essayiste, a Poète and a Biographe South-African resulting from the Communauté afrikaner.

Biography

C.M. van den Heever was born in a Concentration camp Britannique located close to Norvalspont in the Northern of the Colonie of the Cape where his/her mother had been interned during the Guerre of Boers.

Van den Heever studied with the Université free state of Orange and with the Université of Utrecht to the Netherlands (1928). Author of a Thesis on Totius (1932), it taught with the Université free state of Orange then to that of the Witwatersrand.

Its literary career counted it among the " Dertigers" , writers of the Thirties. He is the author in particular of two Nouvelle S in Afrikaans entitled Somer (" été") and " Laat vrugte" (" the last fruits") who gained the Hertzog price in 1942 rewarding the literature in Afrikaans. It also the author of a Biography concerning the General James Barry Hertzog.
