Cétchathach idiot

In the Celtic Mythology, Idiot Cetchathach , Conn “with the Hundred Battles” is one of the laughed Ard Érenn (supreme king of Ireland), most famous. It resides in the capital of Tara. Its reputation is founded on its direction of justice, the prosperity of its people and his valiancy in the engagements. It had to leave in war to many recoveries, to impose its authority to the kings of the provinces.

He is the father of Airt and the grandfather of Cormac Mac Airt. At the time of a voyage in the Other World (the Sidh), the god Lug gives the cut to him which symbolizes Sovereignty. Its reign is however sullied one dark period: he had married Bécuma, a malefic woman for one one year duration. During this time, there were impoverishment of the kingdom, corn shortage and drying up of the milk of the cows.

It has another son named Conle which is victim of a Bansidh. Whereas the father and the son walk on the hill of Uisnech, they meet a splendid woman. She declares her love with the young man, and asks him to follow it in a marvellous country, where reign happiness. His/her father who heard the remarks of the young woman without seeing it, request with the Druide Corann to use of its magic to retain it. But the magic of Bansidh is more powerful than that of the druids as regards love, and Conle leaves with it in a boat crystal.
