César of the best actor
The César of the best actor is allotted each year by the academy of the Césars since 1976.
It should be noted that certain actors were rewarded on several occasions:
- Three times: Michel Serrault (1979, 1982 and 1996)
- Twice: Philippe Noiret (1976, 1990), Gerard Depardieu (1981, 1991), Daniel Auteuil (1987, 2000), Michel Bouquet (2002, 2006)
The actors having been generally named in César of the best actor are: Gerard Depardieu (15 nominations), Daniel Auteuil (12), Michel Serrault (7), Patrick Dewaere (5), then Jean Rochefort, Philippe Noiret, Michel Piccoli and Charles Berling (4).
