César of Rochefort

It makes its studies in Rome and is employed in various negotiations undertaken by the king. On its return in France, he is lawyer of the king.
One knows of him a general Dictionnaire of the most used words of the French language, with the etymologies, etc (Lyon, 1685).
One allots sometimes the work to him Natural history and morals of the Antilles islands of America… with a vocabulary Caraïbe which appears in Rotterdam in 1658 and is translated soon into Dutch (1662), German (in 1664) and English (1666). In the same way, the Table of the isle of Tabago or the News-Oüalchre, one of the isles the Antilles of America , appeared with Leyde in 1665, bears its name.
It seems that César of Rochefort published under its name of the received works of the Antilles. The first would be of Philippe de Longvilliers de Poincy (1583-1660) and the Caribbean vocabulary of Raymond Breton (1609-1679).
