César De Paepe

César De Paepe (Ostend 1842 - Cannes 1890), doctor in medicine, Sociologist and Belgian Politician. He was also militant Rationalisme and Libre-pensée.

Elements biographical

Disciple of Proudhon, it criticizes the Capitalisme, the Division of the labor and the development of the Machinisme which cause the deterioration of the conditions of existence of the workmen.

He represented the Belgian Socialists with the International association of the workers.

The Belgian Socialist party, created in 1885, owes him its first denomination: Belgian working party, in summary P.O.B.

In 1887, it founds in Brussels the first open school of nurses in Belgium.

Deceased of tuberculosis at the 48 years age, it is buried with the Cimetière of Brussels.
