Célestine, or tragi-comedy of Calixte and Mélibée

Célestine, or tragi-comedy of Calixte and Mélibée is a Play published of 1482 to 1592 pennies the veil of anonymity. In 1502 a typographer noticed that the initial letters of each stanza of the poem prolog brought closer from/to each other, formed the name of Fernando de Rojas.

Célestine is a tragi-comedy governed by the sex and the money. This satire of manners to incredible energy sees Célestine, the old brothel-keeper, charged to convince soft Mélibée to marry the Calixte young person. And the intermediary to arrive to her ends… But at which price? Under its airs of light comedy, the text of Fernando of Rojas carries with him (buries!) five characters… Endiablé swirl, part written seven years after the Enquiry
