The Buzzcocks are one of the most prolific groups English of the first wave Punk - New wave (1977).
The style of Buzzcocks seems an attempt successful to reconcile the spirit and the creativity of the pop British (The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who…) with the urgency, energy, the C it yourself and minimalism of the punk-rock'n'roll.
The sound of Buzzcocks is at the same time varied and very recognizable: guitars " cristallines" (it is the punk one) amplified by lamps; low ambitious and humble at the same time, a battery always in support in spite of a a little sometimes constant set of cymbals. The song is with the endorsement, and beyond: it is the guitarist who sings.
After a separation in 1981, the group is reformed in 1989. It continues to turn and leaves regularly the discs, inevitably disappointing compared to their great time, but of a touching fidelity to the punk spirit, and with sometimes some nuggets (Innocent on Trade Test Transmission, several songs of Flat Pack Philosophy)
