Buzz Aldrin
Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr , called Buzz Aldrin (born the January 20th 1930 in Montclair in the New Jersey), is an American astronaut .
Biography
In 1951 it obtains a Bachelor off Science with the American Military academy of West Point.
In 1963 it obtains a doctorate science in astronautics to MIT (Massachusetts Institute off Technology) and is selected by NASA.
Buzz Aldrin left NASA in 1971, then the army in 1972 to enter like adviser technical in industry privée.
Flights carried out
Gemini 12
It takes part in the last flight of the program Gemini as pilot, at the sides of Jim Lovell, the November 11th 1966.During this flight of more than nearly 4 days, it carries out 3 EVAs one total duration of more than 5 heures.
Apollo 11
In 1969 it takes share with the mission Apollo 11 during which he was the second man to be gone on the the Moon after Neil Armstrong.
Others
A lunar crater was baptized of its name, just as the asteroid n° 6470.Aldrin inspired from its nickname a character of cartoon film Toy Story, the Buzz toy the Flash.
Observation of UFO
The media propagated the idea that Buzz Aldrin would have observed an UFO during the mission Apollo 11, on the basis of interview which it granted to Science Chanel. Buzz Aldrin specified thereafter that the idea that he would have seen an UFO comes from the assembly of its interview. Indeed, the part where he explains what it saw was cut: the conclusion of Buzz Aldrin and the crew of Apollo 11 was that what they observed was one of the panels resulting from the separation of a stage higher of the shuttle.
