Butylscopolamine
The butylhyoscine or butylscopolamine is a Anticholinergique used in the event of spastic pains, for example in the Syndrome of the irritable Côlon.
One in general uses it in the form of bromide (bromide of butylhyoscine = bromide of butylscopolamine = hyoscine butylbromure = scopolamine butylbromure)
Counter-indications
- benign Hypertrophy of the prostate (urinary risk of retention).
- Glaucome with angle closed (risk of increase in the intraocular pressure).
- Backward flow gastro-œsophagien
- Sténose of the pylore
Undesirable effects
- anticholinergic Demonstrations (dryness of the mouth, palpitations, constipation and disorders of accommodation), already with the therapeutic amounts.
- Turbid cognitive, especially in the elderly.
Not to confuse with
- the Scopolamine (in Belgium one announced accidents fatal in masterly preparations, following a confusion between the two names. The scopolamine used with the same amounts that the butylscopolamine proves highly toxic).
