Butted

Buta is the chief town of the under-area of Bas-Uele. A territory and a locality of the Eastern province in Democratic republic of Congo, on the river Itimbiri, it extends on two banks from the loop traced in this place by the river, Rubi.

It is located appreciably at the same latitude as Isiro, and literally inserted in the Equatorial forest. It undergoes a wet heat which differentiates it from the agglomerations of savanna

The city has an airport and is on the railway line of Bumba to Isiro.

Altitude: 430 Mr. Situation: to 324 km of Kisangani, 325 km of Bumba, 403 km of Bangossou and 457 km of Isiro.

At the beginning, 2005 the city was touched by a pulmonary epidemic of plague.
