Buster Keaton

Buster Keaton (of her true name Joseph Frank Keaton Junior, Buster being a generic nickname also meaning “breakage-neck”) born the October 4th 1895 with Pickway (Kansas) and dead the 1966 with Hollywood (California), is an actor, realizer, scenario writer and American producer. Humorist famous for his phlegm, it was called “the man who never laughs” by contrast with Charles Chaplin.

Biography

He is one of the references of comic film and Burlesque, and was often quoted like his model by Charles Chaplin. He learns the trade from comic on the burlesques boards of spectacles as of his more young age with his father. He begins as actor with the silent film at the sides from Fatty Arbuckle. Its first experiment on the boards gave him an exceptional body technique (see running it while climbing interminable or carrying out a ship alone), but the low quality of its first spectacles gave him the desire to make films which, them, are beautiful and elegant and its settings in scenes are splendid. With the advent of the talking films, it loses the artistic control of its films, which carried a fatal blow to its career.

In 1940, third weddings, it married Eleanor Norris.

Buster Keaton receives a Oscar in 1959 for the whole of her career.
