Bustanico

Bustanico , in Corsican Bustanicu , is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Corse and the Corsica area . Bustanico/Bustanicu is located in the pieve of Boziu, in Castagniccia. It is composed of two hamlets: Paese Supranu and Paese Suttanu.

Geography

Bustanico is a village of 11,52 km ² located in the middle of the pieve of the Boziu and with a score of kilometers of the city of Corti, in the middle of the Corsican mountains. It with is orée of the forest of the Castagniccia (" châtaigneraie" in Corsican) and part while opening on a panorama and a sight on the Corsican mountains.

The ground is escarpé there because the village is with the hinge between schistous Corsican and granitic one leaving room to emaciated landscapes and the other with a dense forest.

History

Bustanico had an major importance in the History of very whole Corsica since it was of this village that left and in which started the insurection génoise of 1729, against the Gene republic and who led 50 years later to the sale of the island in France by Génois.
