History
Bussières comes from his old Latin name " Buxeriae".
One finds there a fortified camp with spur barred from the time Gallo-Roman, with the place called In Monsard. Station of Bregnat Rock: tools of the Neolithic era to the Bronze Age.

the Dumont abbot, tutor and friend of Lamartine, lived in Bussières. The cave of Monsard located above the village inspired Lamartine for the character of " Jocelyn". This cave is now called Grotte of Jocelyn.
- Henry Testot-Ferry, inventor of the Roche of Solutré lived in Bussières, of which he was a long time the mayor. The street passing in front of its house bears its name henceforth.
