Old commune of the Haute-Marne, the commune of Bussières-and-Belmont existed from the end of the XVIIIe century in 1831. It was created between 1790 and 1794 by the fusion of the communes of Belmont and Bussières. In 1831 it was removed and the two constituent communes were restored. At this moment, Bussières took as new name Bussières-lès-Belmont.
