Busserotte-and-Montenaille

Busserotte-and-Montenaille are a common French, located in the department of the Coast-with Or and the area Burgundy.

Geography

History

Of any origine, these two villages depended on the seigniory of Grancey.

Montenaille is given as alms in Templiers de Bure in 1132 but in 1312 fact return to the house of Grancey. There was in Montenaille a hospital.

Busserotte until XIVe century belongs to the seigniory of Courlon, itself in stronghold of Grancey. Incomes of part of the village, whose mill will be given, as alms, with the canons of collegial Saint Jean de Grancey about 1365. This possession will be the object with the passing of years of several exchanges between the canons and the lords of Grancey. The latter being always reserved the right of justice. Then the mill is sold like National Bien in 1791.

Administration

Places and monuments

the vault Saint Ambroise ---- Its part the oldest date of XIIIe century. This vault is established on the sides of a escarpé slope dominating Busserotte. It is placed under the term of Saint Ambroise (340-397, archbishop of Milan).

This church has a bell-tower with double arcade which overhangs the triumphal arch. It is since XVe century protected by a stave wood roof.

The vault is composed of four parts.
