Business of the Wall cupboards

The business of the wall cupboards refers to an historical event of the Rebirth.

The wall cupboards of which it is question were abusive and seditious writings which were posted in the streets of Paris and in various cities of the kingdom (Turns, Orleans) in the night of the 17 to the October 18th 1534. These posters were placarded until on the door of the royal room of François Ier with the castle of Amboise what constituted an affront towards the person even of the king and his faith. These wall cupboards was entitled " true Articles on horrible the, large ones and unbearable abuses the papal mass, invented directly against Holy Cène of our Lord, only mediator and only Saver Jesus-Christ ". This evocative title is in fact a direct attack towards the Eucharistie.

The author was Antoine Marcourt, Pasteur of Picardy origin of Neuchâtel. In answer, François Ier confessed his catholic faith openly and started the persecution and the exile of many Protestants (departure of Jean Calvin for Switzerland).
