Business Malik Oussekine
The December 6th 1986, at the time of a student's demonstration against the university reform project of the minister Alain Devaquet, a French young man of Algerian origin 22 years, Malik Oussekine , studying at the University of the real professions (ESPI), finds death after being molesté by the police force.
Context
Since November 25th, students and high-school pupils of France expressed against the Projet Devaquet. The movement is marked by a strong police repression. Serious confrontations take place in margin of the demonstrations, making tens of casualties, of which several seriously reached.December 6th 1986, after a peaceful demonstration, students occupy the Sorbonne. The University is evacuated in the calm one, but some students try to raise a barricade with the angle of the Rue Mister-the-Prince and Rue Vaugirard in the Life district of Paris. Immediately, a team of Voltigeur S motorcylcists is sent. The acrobats are police officers ridden with two on a cross-country motor bike. One led, the other is armed with a bludgeon. They have like objective “to clean” the streets after the demonstrations. They move quickly thanks to their motor bikes and, so must surprise and frighten the “breakers”.
Facts
While arriving in the Latin Quarter, the acrobats take in hunting the supposed young people “breakers” that they cross. Malik Oussekine, according to any probability foreigner with the studied movement, leaves its club of favorite jazz. It is midnight. Acrobats notice it and launch out to its continuation. Malik Oussekine short, it crosses a man who returns at his place. The man, Paul Bayzelon, civil servant of finances, let the student enter the hall of his building. Continuations
By learning the news, the delegated minister in charge for research and higher education, Alain Devaquet politically already weakened, decides to resign. Moreover, this death and the big demonstrations force the Prime Minister, Jacques Chirac, to withdraw the Projet Devaquet, the December 8th. The two acrobats directly implied in his death will pass in judgment under inculpation of “aggravated assault having resulted in unintentional death to give it”. They are condemned the January 28th 1990 to two and five one-year suspended sentences. In-house, their administration was satisfied with lighter disciplinary measures. One, 53 years old at the time of the facts, was put at the early withdrawal; the second was transferred.
In 2006, David Assouline, one of the leaders of the movement studied against Devaquet, become senator de Paris and city council man of Paris, proposes a wish with the Council of Paris to make deposit a commemorative plaque on the spot of the drama. The December 6th 2006, this plate was inaugurated in the presence of the family of Malik Oussekine and the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë. Criticisms were emitted because of the text and of the site of this plate because it is placed on the ground and not on the wall and the text of the plate does not announce that the murder is the fact of the police officers and would imply that the demonstrators are the cause.
