Bushism

A bushism is an expression indicating a Mot or a incorrect Phrase that the President of the United States George W. Bush known as in public and in an involuntary way. These errors are very often comic, because they are put in parallel with the serious one of its function.

Examples

Characteristics

The use by George W. Bush of incorrect grammatical turnings shows some characteristics:

the construction of Neologism S such as:

“ tacular ”: a word made up of tactical and nucular , the “tactical” first meaning and the second being a deformation of nuclear , “nuclear power”;
“ misunderestimated ”: built starting from misunderstood (misunderstood) and underestimated (underestimated).

the occasional use of Spoonerism S involuntary:

“ mexed missages ” (for mixed messages ) and “ burrows and bariffs ” (instead of barriers and tariffs ).

the use of words to which the pronociation is close, but which:

is inappropriate, like “ nucular power pants ” (pants of nuclear power) instead of Nuclear power seedlings (nuclear plant);
modifies the direction of the sentence completely: “ devaluation ” (Devaluation) instead of deflation (deflation).

the setting in the plural or the addition of article in front of commonly-used terms:

“ suiciders ”
“ Internets ”,
the Google .

Of redundant or strange turnings:

“ We had has chance to visit with Teresa Nelson who' S.A. relative, and has mom gold has dad. ”, which one can translate by “We had an occasion to visit with Teresa Nelson who is a relative, and a mother or a father”;

change of subject in the course of sentence:

“ I amndt young stag to make year announcement that this Thursday, ticket counters and airplanes will fly out off Ronald Reagan Airport. ”, i.e.: “I am here to make an advertisement that this Thursday, the meters of tickets and the planes will fly away of the Ronald Reagan airport. ”;

incorrect Syntax, with displacement about the words:

“ give my chance has plan to work ” which means “give to my chance a plan to go”;

Bushist

One should not confuse “bushism” and “bushist”. This last expression designates a partisan of the political action of George Bush.
