Hydrology
The flow of the Bus shelter of Magny was observed for one 37 years period (1971-2007), with Ambleville, locality of the department of the Valley of Oise, located at less than three kilometers of its confluence with Epte (ref.: ). The catchment area of the river is there of 99,4 km ², that is to say 90% of the totality of this last which makes 110,5 km ².
The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Ambleville is of 0,464 m ³ a second.
The seasonal fluctuations of flow of the Bus shelter of Magny are far from important. It is hardly if one can speak high and of low waters. Average monthly flows more important are observed December at May included, and oscillate between 0,495 and 0,546 m ³ a second, with an in March maximum. As from May, the flow decreases very slightly until the period of the low waters of summer, which are held in August and in September, with a fall of the monthly medium flow to 0,388 m ³ a second during the two months (388 liters a second), which remains very consisting even abundant.
With the low water levels, the VCN3 can drop until 0,240 m ³, in the event of dry quinquennial period, that is to say 240 liters a second (see note).
In addition the risings are in general far from important. The QIX 2 and QIX 5 or calculated flows of biennial and quinquennial rising are worth respectively 1,2 and 1,6 m ³. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is worth 1,8 m ³ a second, while the QIX 20 is of 2 m ³. Finally the QIX 50 is assembled to 2,3 m ³ a second (see note). The recorded maximum instantaneous flow with Ambleville was of 2,74 m ³ a second on January 2nd, 2003, while the value maximum day laborer was of 1,9 m ³ a second the same day. If one compares the first of these figures with the values of the various QIX of the river, one must note that this rising was much more than cinquantennale and thus completely exceptional.
The Bus shelter of Magny is a river very little abundant. The Lame of water past in its basin is of 147 millimetres annually, which is weak for a river of the area. It is lower of more than half than the overall average of France, and lower also than the whole of the catchment area of the Seine (240 millimetres), as well as Epte (210 mm). The specific Débit (or Qsp) is not assembled since at 4,7 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
