Chardonne is a common Suisse of the Canton of Vaud, located in the District of Vevey.
History
The first mention of the name of Burrs goes back to the Middle Ages. Since 1986, Chardonne is twinned with the common Frenchwoman of Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire in Charente. Each year, the schoolboys of one or the other locality return visit to their Swiss or French comrades.
Geography
Burr is located at the edge of the Lac Léman. The commune also includes the Mont Pilgrim, where the forests and the fields are majority.
Policy
Burr is one of the only communes of the district of Vevey to elect its town council with the poll proportional. Currently, five parties or groupings divide the 50 seats of the Town council: the GCI (Grouping of the independent citizens) with 21 seats, PRD with 13 seats, PL with 12 seats and finally UDC with 4 seats.The municipality, is composed of 2 members of the GCI and a member of the PRD, PL and of " Burr without parti". Section UDC of Burrs and " Burr without parti" were created at the time of the communal elections of spring 2006.
