Burhinidae

The family of the burhinidés (or Burhinidae ) is that of the œdicnèmes , Limicole S terrestrial of intermediate size (from 32 to 59 cm), with the long legs, long wings, and with the mimetic plumage. The Bec is generally short, but large and thick at some species.
One finds them in all the areas of the world except the Antarctic, but they are mainly tropical. They attend the semi-arid zones open to arid, or sometimes close to water; a species is strictly coastal.
