Burgille

Burgille is a common French, located in the department of the Doubs and the area Franche-Comté.

History

In 1972, a fusion joined together the 3 villages of Burgille, Chazoy and Cordiron. Burgille: The presence of an elegant castle will be noted. Of XVIe and XVIIe remains the base of a tower of staircase which joined an arched room, juxtaposed with this old building. The current castle was built with XVIIIe, the date of 1767 is engraved on the wrought iron railing of the balcony. In 1904 its owners the family of Morel made there associate watch tower S. Since 1961 the castle belongs to the family of Vaulchier.

Regrouping with the communes of Chazoy and Cordiron. Chazoy was a seigniory of Cordiron.

Cordiron : a square tower is the only vestige of a castle which belonged in 1366 to the family of Oiselay. In 1584, one could still see a main building with a barn and a wall going along the tower with a drawbridge and a lying bridge. In Cordiron, one finds also vestiges of Gallo-Roman villas.

A room of user-friendliness was carried out in Burgille with the assistance of association BCC Leisures.

Chazoy : a strengthened farm dominated by a keep of the XVIème. The building preserves on its frontage Is two large Renaissance windows, in the West a turret of staircase is plated against the wall. The surmounted main door of a tower is of more recent time.

Villa Gallo-Roman 1st or 2nd, the most important of Franche-Comté: substructions of 6 rooms, gallery, court, hypocauste, pavement, nails, shards, tiles.

Civil architecture

Remainders of a construction 16th/17th to which is coupled the current castle 18th. Castle 16th of Chazoy: square keep, transformed into farm. Vestiges of the strong castle of Cordiran, dismantled under Louis XIV: square tower, old strengthened door, spiral staircase (IMH).

crowned Architecture

Gothic church blazing 16th: single nave, rectangular chorus, gate semicircular arch, bell-tower-porch 15th arched in cradle. No the church with Chazoy and Cordiron.
