Burden with the French Joint
The strike of the French Joint is a strike which will last eight weeks, on March 13rd, 1972, of the factory-girls of the " Joint français" (subsidiary company of the general Company of electricity) with Saint-Brieuc.
The claims relate essencielement to an equalization of the wages with those of the head office of Bezons, in the Val-d'Oise, higher by approximately 20% with equal work. What characterized this social conflict was its duration and the solidarity of a whole fringe of the population. Thus a collection of support permi to collect more than one million and half of francs for the strikers and the peasants offered food to them. Artists such as Gilles Servat, Tri Yann, Claude Nougaro, etc took part in this effort. The direction will yield to the claims on May 8th.
