Burchard Mauchard

Burchard David Mauchard (1696-1751) was a professor of Anatomie and Chirurgie at the University of Tübingen (Germany). It was one of the pioneers in the field of the Ophtalmologie. It is one of the first, in 1748, to describe the eye disease known nowadays under the name of Kératocône.
