Bunny Wailer
Bunny Wailer , of its true name Neville O' Riley Livingston, born on April 10th, 1947, is one of the founding members of the group The Wailers with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. It is Chanteur, Compositeur, and percussion nist nyabinghi.
Biography
It meets Bob Marley as of childhood, the two friends will be later the pupils of Joe Higgs, which teaches all its musical knowledge to them. It is at that time that they meet some Peter Tosh. The three friends will create Teenagers successively, then The Wailing Rude Servant boys and finally The Wailing Wailers. It is Bunny Wailer which will make the vocal harmonies in the group.After having worked with Leslie Kong, it is at Studio One, with Clement Coxsone Dodd whom they will acquire their notoriety. It publishes its first album solo, Blackheart Man , in 1976. It is a compilation of its individual which will be a good success. The albums Protest follow, in 1977, and Struggle , in 1979, as well as a participation in the original soundtrack of the film Rockers and tubes it Love Fire .
In 1980, it leaves an album resumption of the titles of Wailers of the Island time. Contrary to Peter Tosh, it will preserve good relationships with Bob Marley, until the death of this one in 1981. Then produced, with died of this last, the famous Tribute , in memory of his/her friend of childhood.
Bunny Wailer takes, then, a little retreat with the advent of the era of the digital in the reggae of the 80' S. To the favor of the project Never Ending Wailers, it tries to reform Wailers with Peter Tosh and Junior Braithwaite, but in spite of the success of a first title Nice Time , they run up against the refusal of Rita Marley which inherited the royalties of her husband. Then Peter Tosh is assassinated in 1987. Bunny continues to write, but is done more discrete. The disc resulting from this project will spend ten years to be born, in 1994. Unfortunately, he will suffer at his exit from a completely anachronistic sound.
In 2007, Bunny Wailer is always active on the scene reggae and turns in the whole world. It, in 2006, took part in documentary film/Made In Jamaica.
