Bungo (language)

The bungo (文語) is the name given to the language traditional, literary, Japanese, in opposition to the kôgo , the oral language. They are different by the grammatical rules and a variation from the vocabulary. The bungo was the principal method of writing of Japanese until in end of the year 40.
Nowadays, only the kôgo is used, in the oral language as in the literature, but of the grammar and the vocabulary of bungo are sometimes used to give a stylistic effect.
