Bulwark

The bulwark is large a shield of oval or quadrangular form, carried by the Fantassins and more particularly the principal rafter S, with the Moyen-âge.
One sees appearing this defensive Arme at the 14th century. At that time, the crossbow had a good range of shooting, but was very long with bander ; at least one minute was necessary to a skilful principal rafter to put the cord in the notch and to take down the square.
