Bulletin of the Laws

In the dreadful one and bloody disorder of the Terror, Convention and the Committee of hello public, anxious to channel and coordinate the actions, realized that it was necessary to create a body to inform the administrations, in particular in province, of what was voted with Paris.

This is why the decree of the 14 frimaire year II (December 4th, 1793) created the Bulletin of the laws " official collection of the laws, ordinances and payments which them régissent". A commission was especially created to supervise the sending of this publication in all the communes. The first number of the Bulletin of the laws appeared only in May 1794.
