Buick Park Avenue
Appeared in 1975 in the range Buick, the name Park Avenue had been used before by Cadillac (briefly during the Sixties).
The group Park Avenue executive was a group of option on the model Buick Limited 4 doors 1975. First Park Avenue had out of equipment of series of the seats before individual different from those of the other Limited models with a console full length with front, the automatic conditioned air, a radio stereo AM-FM, a differential with limited slip, a tilting and telescopic steering column and other equipment. Later in the year, the console and some other equipment were removed of this group of options at the request of certain customers who wanted a 6 place car with the head offices Park Avenue but it was always possible to order them in option.
In 1977, the car becomes smaller like other Electra and Limited and the console is not available any more with the option Park Avenue.
In 1978, " Park Avenue" is not any more one group of options on the Limited model but separate a Electra model which is increasingly luxurious than the Limited model. It is also possible there to have Electra Park Avenue 2 doors this year. No inscription " Electra" or " Limited" is not visible there on the body as from this year.
In 1985, Park Avenue and the others Electra, receive a new body even smaller and monocoque. It is now a model with traction which is not any more the largest model Buick but they is always most luxurious. In 1989, a version " Ultra" of Park Avenue includes/understands a leather interior, a roof of vinyl and a special completion. This model is not very popular and does not correspond to the model Park Avenue Ultra according to 1990.
In 1991, Buick drops the name Electra, Electra Limited, Electra T/Type just as the models two doors. Only the models Park Avenue and Park Avenue Ultra remain. At the same time, Park Avenue undergoes an esthetic recasting and an overfed version of V6 3.8 liters becomes available in option on the model Park Avenue Ultra (which is more " sportif" that the preceding Ultra model). The following year, the compressed engine becomes standard on the version Ultra (which is not available in Europe). In 1997, the model Park Avenue undergoes its last esthetic recasting and receives a new body which it shares with the Oldsmobile Aurora and the Buick Riviera. This model is produced until 2005 and the more expensive version of the new model Buick Lucerne in taken its place in the range Buick.
