Buffalo
The buffalo (drawn from Italian bufalo ) (name of the female: bufflonne or buffless ) is a Animal (Bovidé, sub-order of the Boviné S) alive in group. It is characterized by frightening horns and large Oreille S. It weighs on average 700 kilograms, feeds from Herbe S, graminaceous and some sheets. This animal lives in the Savane and the wooded areas. The gestation of the Femelle lasts 11 months, it puts at the world small of 25 kilograms. To give good milk, the buffless needs to spend long hours in water (requirement with the health of the buffaloes and thus with a good lactation).
Its principal enemy is the Homme. Hunting is regulated in certain reserves. The trade, is lucrative for him, since the amateurs of horns and " feelings fortes" must pay 1.000 dollars per day for a safari of approximately 7 days, plus a right of trophy in Tanzania, 1.500 dollars per capita (of buffalo!) (July 2007).
Its only Prédateur is the Lion, which attacks only vulnerable individuals because young, old or sick.
The buffaloes result from a common stock which is Asian. During centuries differences appeared so that today there exist two great lines: buffaloes of Asia and buffaloes of Africa, respectively constituting the kinds Bubalus Hamilton Smith, 1827 and Syncerus Hodgson, 1847. The buffalo was domesticated in Asia and a stock was imported into Europe, that one names Mediterranean Buffle.

- Bubalus mindorensis (Heude, 1888) - Tamarau.
- Bubalus quarlesi (Ouwens, 1910) - Anoa of the mountains.

- Syncerus caffer caffer - Buffalo of the Cape or Buffalo of Cafrerie.

- Syncerus caffer nanus - Buffalo of forest or dwarf Buffalo.
