Buddy DeFranco

Boniface Ferdinand Leonard " Buddy" DeFranco (born the February 17th 1923 with Camden in the New Jersey) is a Clarinettiste of Jazz.

DeFranco was likely to begin its career at the same time as the Swing and the Big Band; several of them étaeint directed by clarinettists: Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Woody Hermann whose popularity was increasing.

DeFranco was probably one of the only clarinettists of jazz to succeed in adapting its style and until the years 1980, he was the only musician of jazz of reputation to be played exclusively of the clarinet. He was, with Brad Terry, one of the only clarinettists of jazz Bebop.

In 1950 it joined during one year the septet of Count Basie. It was of 1966 to 1974 the leader of the Glenn Miller Orchestra .

DeFranco also played, enter other musicians, with Gene Krupa, Charlie Barnet, Art Tatum; it recorded a dozen albums as leader.
