The Buddleia of David ( Buddleja davidii ), also called " tree with the butterflies " or lilac of summer , is a shrub originating in China and pertaining to the family of the Loganiacées (traditional Classification) or Scrophulariacées (phylogenetic classification).
Origin of the name
The name of the Buddleja kind is dedicated to the Reverend Adam Buddle (1660-1715), a Médecin Pasteur and Botaniste amateur English. Its common noun " Tree with the papillons" comes owing to the fact that its flowers attract a great number of butterfly S.
Description
It is a shrub with the stems angular, velvety, with the null and void sheets, opposed, lancéolées, toothed, with short petiole, the odorous dense ear flowers, of color pale lilac to purple in the orange center, with tubulous corollas finished by four lobes. The buddléia is a toxic plant, containing Aucubine.It is interesting for its rapid growth which makes it possible to furnish a corner with garden in some years.
It is spread quickly along the ways of railroad and waste ground, which it invades in dense colonies. It is a invasive Espèce in Europe, it is thus important to control its culture in the gardens.
