Bucks Fizz
Bucks Fizz is an English pop group formed to take part in Eurovison. They gain it in 1981, year of their foundation, with the title Making Your Mind Up and have a rather important career in the United Kingdom
Career
The first members are Jay Aston, Cheryl Baker, Bobby G (or Gee, actually Gubby) and Mike Nolan, just like the Abba model: two men, two women. Already tested, they are joined together by the team of producers and type-setters Nicola Martin and Andy Hill. The group quickly benefits from the success of " Making Your Mind Up", their first number 1 with the hit parade of the United Kingdom in 1981, followed by three other tubes the same year of which " Land Off Make Believe " like their album éponyme. In 1982, they have a last title classified number 1, " My Camera Never Lies" and they leave less than 45 turns and make more rounds. They will have the last great success in 1986, " In New Beginning (Mamba Seyra) " , as some successes of regard in 1988.
In December 1984 it drunk of the round is implied in an accident and Mike Nolan is seriously wounded. In 1985 Jay Aston leaves the group and is replaced by Shelley Preston. This last share in 1989 and the group decides to continue as a trio. Cheryl Baker works successfully for television and leaves them in 1993, two other women arrive Heidi Manton and Amanda Szwarc. Mike Nolan leaves in 1996 and David Van Day, ex member of Dollar, replaces it a time before Graham Crisp and then Wayne Chinnery do not succeed to him. Gee marries Heidi Manton in 1999. Amanda Szwarc is successively replaced by Louise Hart and Nikki Winters.
After some legal battles around the right of loan of the name Bucks Fizz, the original members of the group, including Jay Aston are reconcile and make an appearance in a video for the individual 2007 of Comic Relief.
