Buckethead

Buckethead is the name of artist of Brian Carroll , a guitarist rock'n'roll/shred American born in California in 1969, autoproclamé, Buckethead appears always masked and carries a bucket out of paperboard reversed (“bucket”) on the head. He answers the interviews via a puppet (Herbie).

The " légende" Buckethead

According to Ronald L. Witherspoon (historian of Bucketheadland), Buckethead would have been born in a farm in the middle of chickens. After having undergone ill treatment on behalf of its " éleveurs" it took refuge near his friends chickens. Appreciating much the company of the young boy, the latter would have scarified the face to him; thus condemning has to carry a mask. Buckethead acknowledges being marked by the sad fate reserved for chickens of the farm. Indeed, the “stockbreeders” regularly killed a great number of his/her friends whom it was to then eat. Buckethead, in “homage” to the mutilated bodies as of his/her gallinacés friends, tries to reproduce their cries of suffering using his guitar. Buckethead played much for his/her friends chickens and raised its level of play quickly.

Style

Equipped with an irreproachable technique, Buckethead appears among the most recognized guitarists planet. Its style varies Jazz fusion (Population Override) with the Thrash metal (Cuckoo Clock Of Hell) while passing by the Electronica (Day Of The Robot) by keeping a very experimental key. Its nature before guardist reaches his paroxysm in albums such as Gorgone with Travis Dickerson or Kevin' S Noodle House with Brain or it applies has to give the strangest sounds being able to be extracted from a guitar.

Career

Buckethead started its career of guitarist to beginning of the year 90 with his first groups the " Deli Creeps".

He in particular played in the project Praxis of Bill Laswell, like within the Pink Guns of 2000 with 2004. Part of the albums solo left on the label avant-garde Tzadik.

There are enormously speculations on its real identity. This is why Paul Gilbert has to contradict itself, on its site, which it was not Buckethead. Buckethead is in fact a large amateur of films of horrors, it is from there that it draws a good portion from the inspiration of his character. But it should not especially be forgotten that buckethead especially found its inspiration on the malbouffe (or fast food) of this world from where the bucket on the head.
