The Buccaneers de Tampa Bay ( Tampa Bay Buccaneers in English) is a frankness from the in [[National League Football]] ( NFL ) based with Tampa.

History

The frankness was founded in 1976. The owner is Malcolm Glazer and the trainer as a chief is currently Jon Gruden.

Buccaneers acquire a certain recognition with the arrival of Tony Dungy as trainer in 1997, whereas the frankness had arrived only three times in playoffs during its first 20 years. Tony Dungy works a defense which undoubtedly appears among the best of the league, with in particular DT Sapp, OF Rice, LB Brooks and S Lynch.

Between 1997 and 2001, Tony Dungy leads four times in five seasons Buccaneers in playoffs. He is laid off however at the end of the season 2001 fault of not being able to qualify itself for Superbowl. The trainer Jon Gruden joined then Tampa coming from Oakland Raiders. As of its first year with the head of the Bucs , Gruden manages to remove Superbowl. It is the apogee of the frankness in January 2003, at the time of success 48-21 vis-a-vis Oakland Raiders at the time of the Super Bowl XXXVII.

During the intersaison 2006, Buccaneers put on continuity with 23 of the 24 holders who are of return.

Only the S Dexter Jackson left to Cincinnati Bengals during the Free Agency. Among the principal recruits, one can note QB Jay Fiedler (New York Jets), BFR Jerald Sowell (New York Jets), WR David Boston (Miami Dolphins) and OG Toniu Fonoti (Minnesota Vikings).

Tampa Bay also benefitted from the Draft 2006 to reinforce its Offensive Line. With its first turn, Buccaneers selected the OG of Oklahoma Davin Joseph. With the second round, they selected the OT of Boston College Jeremy Trueblood. One can also note the selections of the WR Maurice Stovall of Notre Dame (3rd turn), of the CB Alan Zemaitis of PEN State (4th turn) and of the QB Bruce Gradkowski of Toledo (6th turn) which holds several records in NCAA.
