Bubbles
Nivelles (in Dutch Nijvel , in Walloon Bubble ) is a French-speaking city of Belgium located in Walloon region, chief town of district in the Province of the Walloon Brabant.
Chief town of the administrative and legal district of Bubbles, zip code 1400.
The April 2nd 2007, it counted 24.613 inhabitants (infos http://www.nivelles.be), called Nivellois, or sometimes Aclots. It is necessary however, to respect the tradition, to be more than inhabitant of Bubbles to be Aclot: it is necessary inter alia being born in Nivelles and more particularly inside the old ramparts, having tasted with the local speciality (the tart '' Al of jote ''), etc

Monuments and curiosities

the Holy-Gertrude Collegial of Bubbles, Collegial Romance, bears the name of Holy-Gertrude (the holy owner of the Aclots ) and its famous Jean de Nivelles, Jacquemart which sounds the hours fixed on the southern turret and which dates from the 13th century.

Since 2007 a new beer made its appearance, Gertrude. It is a ambrée beer of 6% alc. vol. whose receipt was created by Emanuele Corazzini.
History
- Paleolithic: (approximately 35 000 years front J. - C.) one finds already in the area of materials lithic.

- In the middle of the 7th century, the territory of the current city of Bubbles is located in the middle of the franque Austrasie . - Gertrude dies in 659 and is buried in the funerary vault dedicated to Pierre saint. The prestigious Romance building , devoted in 1046 by the bishop of Liege Wazon in the presence of the emperor Henri III, is only the ultimate stage of this evolution.
- As for the abbey, rested by family members of the mayors of the palate, it becomes imperial abbey by the accession with the throne of their descendants.
- the 11th century constitutes the apogee of the abbey. The field extends its possessions in Frise, in Zealand, in the valley of the the Moselle and until the the Rhine.
